Overnight, Kyiv was hit by a major barrage of missiles and drones launched by Russian forces. The attack resulted in at least four civilians killed, including a 12-year-old girl, and dozens more injured.
The assault was one of the most intense since the full-scale war began over 12 hours of strikes, targeting residential areas, factories, a cardiology clinic, and other non-military infrastructure.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted the majority of the incoming missiles and drones. In numbers: roughly 595 drones and 48 missiles were launched, with most being shot down or jammed.
President Zelensky urged stronger international measures, especially cutting off energy revenues that are funding Russia’s war. Meanwhile, public outcry is growing over civilian casualties and the targeting of infrastructure.
